Dr. Hope M. Matafwali

Chief — Paediatrics, Child Health and Health Systems Strengthening

Dr. Hope M. Matafwali is a Paediatrics and Child Health Specialist and Public Health Professional with eight years of professional experience in clinical management, paediatric and child health, antimicrobial stewardship, antimicrobial resistance surveillance, immunisation safety, outbreak response, and paediatric HIV care.

She is a member of the Zambia Emergency Medical Team and has a strong interest in paediatric care, medical education, emergency preparedness, and health systems strengthening.

Dr. Matafwali holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Fellowship in Paediatric and Child Health. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH), expected in 2027. Her interests include Universal Health Coverage, global health security, antimicrobial resistance, paediatric HIV, and improving the quality of paediatric and child health services.
