Dr. Isaac Banda

Vice Chairperson — Public Health and Programs Committee

Dr. Isaac Banda (MBChB, MPH) is a Public Health Specialist with more than 26 years of professional experience in Zambia’s Ministry of Health, with extensive expertise in Primary Health Care, public health programming, health systems strengthening, and emergency preparedness and response.

Dr. Banda holds an MBChB and Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Zambia. He has undertaken specialised training in Community Health Administration, Public Health Management, Public Health Emergency Management, Mpox clinical care, and other areas of public health.

He has extensive experience in HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, maternal, newborn and child health, immunisation, and public health emergencies. He has also served as the Point of Contact and Coordinator for the USAID Government-to-Government Project for Central Province. He brings extensive practical experience in public health leadership, health service delivery, and strengthening health systems in Zambia.
